The staff of the Office of Public Information and Communications won seven awards, including the Grand All, the top honor of the evening, at the 2007 Northwest Florida Local Image Awards. Their Local Option Sales Tax campaign, Hurricane Shopping List and Keep the Wreath Green campaign were recognized for public relations innovation, planning and design excellence.
The
Office of Public Information & Communications
is the information hub for the Escambia County Board
of County Commissioners, County Administration and
its departments. Our Mission is to enhance the relationship
between Escambia County Government, its citizens and
the media through public relations, media relations
and customer service.
As
the citizen customer service center and the liaison
for the media, the Office of Public Information &
Communications is responsible for addressing questions
or inquiries regarding day-to-day and emergency county
activities. In addition to producing news releases,
reports, newsletters, and the commission's television
show, education outreach is a vital function of this
office.
