Escambia County Parks & Recreation Department foresees itself as a progressive leader with multi-faceted responsibility in managing natural resources that range from the shores of the Gulf of Mexico to the rolling hills of our northern boundaries.

By seeking to improve the quality of life, image and services in Escambia County, the Parks and Recreation Department will be alert to opportunities to acquire, reclaim and preserve park, natural and open space resources and expand its recreational, cultural and educational programs.

The Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 131 pieces of property throughout Escambia county, that includes over 114 athletic fields at 13 athletic parks; 40 developed neighborhood parks; 28 undeveloped open space parks; 12 community centers; 4 beach access parks; 11 boat launch areas; Pensacola Bay Bridge Fishing Pier; 19 median areas throughout the County, Equestrian Centers, a 77 site camping facility at Lake Stone and joint use agreements with elementary schools for use and maintenance of playground facilities.
