Environmental Quality: Protects and
enhances our natural and built environments through
delivery of management services of Air and Land Management,
Water Resources Management, and the Barrier Island
Reserve Management.
Activities include:
- Issuing permits for tree removals, sand placement,
and wetlands disturbance
- Implementing the Jones Swamp Preserve land management
plan
- Evaluating land purchases for environmental liability
- Provides lead direction on dredging activities
- Participates in Development Review Committee
and Land Development Code process
- Develops public education and outreach programs
on issues like air and water quality, and pollution
prevention.
