Custodial Services

The Custodial Division is responsible for providing cleaning and housekeeping services to a current inventory of 55 County owned/leased facilities.  The M.C. Blanchard Judicial building is a large and heavily frequented building where nine full time employees (FTE) will accomplish custodial services.  This building requires continuous custodial support during normal operating business hours as well as after hour support.  The facility houses both State and County judiciary entities where material confidentiality and sensitivity drive the requirement for permanent custodial personnel.  In addition, one full time employee (FTE) supports the Courthouse Complex during the workday.  The other 53 buildings and the Courthouse Complex are maintained through a large custodial contract with the daily administration and contract performance oversight being enforced by the custodial manager.

A clean and healthy indoor environment is one in which the surroundings contribute to productivity, comfort, and a sense of health and well being”.  All services are performed as mandated by Florida Statue Chapter 381.046 Sanitary Nuisance Code and through regimental and systematic guidelines outlined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Indoor Air Division and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).

Custodial performance indicators are compared to data provided by local governments participating in the comparative performance measurement program of the IFMA (International Facility Management Association) Center for Performance Measurement.  Custodial performance measures represent costs per square foot of buildings cleaned and include both in-house and contractual custodial costs.
