Administrative Division
Provides management and administrative direction and
ensures integration of Department and divisional programs.
This Division also includes the Unlicensed/Unpermitted Activities Section, which is charged with the responsibility of policing unpermitted or unlicensed building activities.
Contractor Licensing Division
Protects the health, safety and welfare of persons
and property by requiring the certification of individuals
engaged in, or wishing to engage in, the business
of contracting within the County and investigating contractor/consumer
complaints, by issuing and regulating contractor licenses
and enforcing local building codes.
Permitting Division
Coordinates the overall issuance of all building related
permits. The "one-stop" program concept
provides an environment in which all types of required
development applications are processed and construction related
permits are issued after review for concurrency issues
have been completed.
Inspections Division
Inspects new construction, and many improvements to
existing structures, for conformance with adopted
standards. Engineering Technician positions in this
section perform skilled technical engineering work
and accomplish inspections and site plan reviews for
drainage. The Inspections section is divided into
five activities:
1. Building Inspections
2. Electrical Inspections
3. Plumbing, Gas, and Mechanical Inspections
4. Fire Safety Inspections
5. Site Inspections
Plans Review
Included within the Permitting Division, the Plans Review Section consists of plan check technical and support staff that is charged with the responsibility of reviewing residential
and commercial construction plans for compliance with
adopted building codes.
