Webpage updated 12/2011 PLANNING BOARDThe Planning Board, sitting as the Local Planning Agency, consists of seven voting members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC), all of whom reside within Escambia County. Two ex-officio non-voting members sit on the Planning Board as well with one being appointed by the Escambia County School Board and the other being appointed by the commanding officer of NAS Pensacola and NAS Whiting Field. It is the duty of the Planning Board to be currently informed and knowledgeable of the conditions and development in Escambia County and to make recommendations relating to County growth management to the BCC. The Planning Board hears matters related to comprehensive planning, land development regulations, rezonings, planned units developments as well as amendments and interpretations to the Land Development Code.
